Maun is central to this unique combination of safari experiences embracing the Kalahari Plains Camp in the Central Kalahari Game reserve with Banoka Bush Camp on the wildlife-rich Khwai River in a private concession and ending at Seba Camp in ancient riverine forest for the true Okavango Delta experience. Classic luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms as well as raised safari tents with private decks overlooking the surrounding bush and open plains.

Highlights:Game drives within a mix of totally different habitats from desert to riverine forest to open savannah as well as the chance to explore the quiet waterways of the Khwai River by mokoro canoe. Mammal and birdlife is prolific and varies with time of year in accordance with the seasons and migratory patterns. Cultural opportunities include interacting with the San Bushman and their unique way of life in the heart of the Kalahari Desert.

Best Time of year:This is truly an anytime safari experience as the warm to hot summer rainfall months give way to the cool to cold and dry winter days and nights of winter. As such change is ever constant and your stated wildlife interests will determine which months are best for you.

Budget: / FI

Our suggested Add-ons:Flying on to other safari camps of your choice within the Okavango Delta wilderness portfolio or ending at Victoria Falls to view the mighty Zambezi River plunging into the labyrinth of cataracts and deep-cut gorges far below the towering cliffs – truly an awesome sight!

Overnight accommodation in safari tents under star-studded skies in true wilderness style.

Highlights: Unspoilt woodland surroundings and abundance of wildlife and birdlife along the banks of the river. Selinda is well known for elephant, buffalo, sable antelope, roan antelope and wild dog. Over 300 bird species have been recorded.

Best Time of year: This exploration only runs between May and October

Budget: / FI

Our suggested Add-ons: A minimum of one night at Selinda or Zarafa camps either before or after the canoe trail to enjoy an overland game viewing experience.

TOUR: GREAT WILDERNESS JOURNEY (10 nights / 11 days)

A safari of evenly paced Okavango Delta and woodland wildlife viewing experiences that starts in Maun and ends at a riverside safari camp on the Zambezi River above the world-famous Victoria Falls near Livingstone.

Highlights:A combination of three night stays at different camps within a diverse mix of habitats within selected wilderness areas provides for game viewing walks, day and night- both water and land based - at its best before ending the tour on the Zambezi above the Victoria Falls – the ‘smoke that thunders’ according to tribal tradition. Mammal and birdlife is nothing short of spectacular along the route with a wide range of activities on offer to suit all interests.

Best Time of year:Year round but best in the cooler months from April to August.

Budget: / FI

Our suggested Add-ons:An extra night on the Zambezi  to enjoy the special ambiance of this mighty river and other attractions in the Victoria Falls area. Choice depends on one’s spirit of adventure and includes charter flights over the Falls, white water rafting, bungee jumping, leisurely sunset and game viewing cruises by boat on the river. For those looking for an extended stay in Zambia the Luangwa or Kafue safari experience comes highly recommended.
